“I told you,” Rafe whispered.

He, Brady and Dan listened to the rush of water coming from JJ’s bathroom. They stood right outside her bathroom door and every few seconds a sultry moan vibrated above the shower stream.

Beside him Dan cursed softly and Brady clenched his jaw. Fire lanced their eyes. Rafe recognized their looks. He felt the intoxicating need for release shooting through his system as well.

Lately, he’d been hearing sexy mews, but at first he’d thought it was just wishful thinking.

Rafe blew out a tense breath as she moaned again. This time a bit louder.

“Maybe she wants us to hear?” Dan suggested.

“Well, if she does, then we’ve heard,” Brady replied gruffly.

“Does anyone have any ideas of what we can do to help alleviate her sexual tension?” Rafe asked. He wasn’t sure how long he could stay here listening to her sultry moans every morning and every night when she showered.

“I have an idea,” Brady said softly.

With a nod of his head, he indicated they should move away from the bathroom door and leave her bedroom.

JJ was just removing the third of three bread pans from the oven when she thought she heard the low rumble of an airplane. Normally a plane passing overhead didn’t bother her, but this one sounded different. It was close and in the general direction of the lake.

She peeked out the kitchen window and noticed a pitch-black bush plane coming to a halt on the frozen lake. The plane was similar in size to the one she’d arrived in.

A prickle of uneasiness zipped through her as she watched Brady stroll down the trail to the plane. One person, a pretty auburn-haired woman wearing a powder-blue ski jacket and pants, climbed out of the plane. She shook hands with Brady.

They conversed for several minutes before she disappeared into the plane again and a moment later she handed Brady a medium-sized cardboard box, which he placed on the ice. She handed him a second box, this one smaller, and he put it on top of the other one.

They waved to each other and then the plane roared off again.

She watched as Brady carried one of the boxes up the trail and into the barn. Minutes later he strolled down to the lake and retrieved the second box, strolled back up and disappeared into the barn with it.

Huh, she hadn’t known he’d ordered something for ranch use. She could have used some properly fitting clothes. All this ranch life and healthy eating was making her curvier in some places, especially her breasts.

She grinned to herself. She’d been here almost a month and she hadn’t even thought about taking off and disappearing like she’d wanted to do when she’d been told she was getting a job out here. She’d also managed not to have any more full-blown panic attacks during her short conversations with her parole officer. But speaking with the woman continued to make her anxious, despite Sabrina being polite and cheerful. She didn’t like feeling uncomfortable with authority figures.
